International Representation

A3PS supports the representation of A3PS member’s and Austria’s interests on European and international level. For this purpose A3PS collaborates closely with the following committees and initiatives of the EU and the IEA.

ERTRAC

ERTRAC is the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council. It is the European technology platform which brings together road transport stakeholders to develop a common vision for road transport research in Europe.

ERTRAC members are representatives from all the stakeholders of the Road Transport sector, including private and public organisations involved in Research, and gathering also administrations from both European and national levels. Austria is represented by the bmvit and A3PS. 

Fuel Cell & Hydrogen – Joint Undertaking (FCH JU)

FCH JU is a unique public private partnership supporting research, technological development and demonstration (RTD) activities in fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies in Europe. Its aim is to accelerate the market introduction of these technologies, realizing their potential as an instrument in achieving a carbon-lean energy system.

IPHE - International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy

Established in 2003, IPHE as an international institution accelerates the transition to a hydrogen economy. It provides a mechanism for partners to organize, coordinate and implement effective, efficient and focused international research, development, demonstration and commercial utilization activities related to FCH-technologies.

IEA - International Energy Agency

Austria is represented in the following traffic-relevant Implementing Agreements (IA) by the bmvit and is supported by the A3PS:

  • Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (HEV): Research collaboration for the development and market introduction of hybrid and electric vehicles. 
  • Advanced Motor Fuels (AMF): The IA-AMF is for information and promotion of research, development and market introduction of advanced fuels. In addition to the promotion of ethanol other technologies (e.g. algae fuels) are explored.
  • Advanced Fuel Cells (AFC): This IA promotes the technological development of key components and systems of fuel cells.
